Fauns

You know, life’s funny. I mean, not “ha-ha” funny, but like, “why did I trip on that sidewalk crack” funny. So there I was, 2009, surrounded by the wreckage of crashed video game studios, thinking, “What’s next? Can I really do this?” And that’s when it hit me: animation. Yeah, that’s right, an animation studio right in the heart of Lyon, France.

But let me tell you something: you can’t do this stuff alone. You need friends, people you can trust. Not just any friends, though – talented, dedicated ones who know their way around a 3D model. So, I teamed up with some of my best pals, and we started this thing called Fauns. I gotta say, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

We managed to get work from all the big names: National Geographic, ARTE, BBC, Discovery, Arkane Studios, Bethesda, Massive Games, AtlasV. I mean, talk about a lineup! And we worked on some pretty cool projects too. You ever heard of “Battlescar, Punk was invented by girls”? No? What about “Living Universe”? Yeah, we made those.

You’d think everything would be smooth sailing from there, right? Wrong! We ran into some pretty crazy challenges, but we didn’t let that stop us. We kept pushing, innovating, and growing. I’m talking virtual reality, documentaries, you name it. We were a real creative force to be reckoned with.

Now, here’s where it gets really interesting. One day, I had to make this incredibly tough decision: selling the studio. I mean, who does that, right? But, you know what? It was the right call. It was time for a new chapter, and Fauns needed a fresh start.

Today, Fauns is still going strong under new management. It’s like a beautiful, ever-evolving monument to our blood, sweat, and tears. Sometimes, I just sit back and think about all the laughs, the late nights, and the amazing team I had the pleasure of working with. And you know what? I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

So, there you have it. That’s my story. A wild ride full of ups and downs, twists and turns, and a whole lot of pretty pictures. Not too bad for a guy who just wanted to make something out of a bunch of broken video game studios, huh? Life sure is… well, funny.
