It all started with a casual encounter 🫱🏼🫲🏻 with Arnaud Colinard at Annecy 2017, and let me tell you, the man knows how to cut to the chase. One simple question – “do you prefer galaxy or punk?” – and with my response, “punk,” 🤘🏽 we were off to the races on a whirlwind journey to create Battlescar. 🔥
“Battlescar: Punk was invented by Girls” is the full title, btw.

Working alongside directors Nico and Martin was like trying to tame a tornado of creativity. 🌪️ They had ideas shooting out of them 💥💥💥 like fireworks, each one crazier than the last. But that’s where the magic happened – we assembled an art team of senior 3D wizards to bring their vision to life. 🧞

The first chapter was whipped up in a matter of weeks, with the whole team working in perfect harmony 🎵 under the guidance 🦮 of Dominique Peyronnet. By January, we were strutting our stuff at Sundance, basking in the glory of our creation. And boy, did Battlescar make the rounds – selected for competition at the 2019 Venice Biennale, 🎭 and racking up awards left, right, and center. 🚀
You might think I’m tooting my own horn here, but Battlescar truly stands as one of the best VR experiences I’ve seen in years. 🤯 Produced by the powerhouse trio of ARTE, AtlasV, and Fauns, we built this baby from the ground up with blood, sweat, and a whole lot of punk 🤜🏼🤛🏼

🌊 The project’s success was no small feat, and we know it’s still inspiring other creatives in their endeavors. But that’s the beauty of this crazy ride – when you put your heart and soul ✨ into something, the ripples can be felt far and wide.
As for Nico and Martin, those mad geniuses are cooking up another wild transmedia project with Baobab. 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 And I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see what they’ve got up their sleeves this time.
So there you have it – the story of Battlescar, an immersive VR experience that took the world by storm, all thanks to a chance meeting and a shared love of punk.
As Executive Producer, I helped shape this award-winning VR experience, from prototyping to final delivery, working closely with directors and the animation team to push the limits of immersive storytelling. 🏆📽️
